1981 Yamaha RD50M (older restoration project)
We have for sale this 1981 Yamaha RD50M in the popular ‘Mars Bar’ colour, perfect for someone who had one back in the day or for someone wanting to add a little bit of finesse and sell it on for a bit more.
The bike is showing just over ten thousand miles on the odometer although there is no way of verifying this. It has been subject to a fairly thorough restoration in the past and features a powder coated frame and swinging arm, there is a new replacement tank supplied in primer and has a replacement carb fitted.
The bike was supplied to us as a non-runner but following a carb strip and re-setting the points gap it now starts and runs very easily (by hand).
Points for improvement: The rear mud guard and chain guard are painted, the wrong handle bars are fitted, currently the rh sidepanel is missing although the previous owner may be able to find it, it is fitted with a chrome expansion chamber, several chrome parts like the clocks and headlight rim show signs of corrosion.
In veiw of the bikes age it is being sold as a restoration project with no warranty written or implied.
But, overall this little bike is in great condition considering it had just passed it’s 44th registration aniversary (16/06/1981). Viewing is welcomed at our premesis in Penmaenmawr near Conwy in North Wales and can be arranged by calling Paul on (07936080586)
